On Sunday 8th August and from a shotgun start, 20 teams took to the fairways at Shanklin and Sandown Golf Club for their annual Joint Captains’ Day Am-Am competition, this year dubbed The Captains’ Revenge.
Revenge it was as many greens had been strewn with obstacles. An antiquated driver had to be used on the 10th and the wobbly putter on the 9th made putting more of a nightmare than usual.
The runners up were Richard Hodges, Derek Brown, Joe Brown and Chris Broderick with 92 points, but taking the honours with 98 points were Gary Moody, Tony Williams, George Foreman and Simon Booth.
