A serious assault in which a man suffered a cut to his face, resulted in a large emergency response to The Man in The Moon in Newport yesterday evening (Saturday).
A large Police presence descended on the popular watering hole at around 18:30 following reports of an assault.
Upon arrival, a 42-year-old man from Newport was arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning ABH-level injuries and wounding/inflicting grievous bodily harm without intent.
The victim, a man in his 20s who has sustained a cut to his cheek, was taken to St Mary’s Hospital for treatment.
Officers conducted enquiries in the area in the aftermath of the event before leaving the scene at around 19:30.
The arrested male has been released under investigation pending further enquiries, Police have confirmed.
Utter scum that frequents there..most probably on benefits don’t work wont work brigade.
