3 family size, 2-storey houses look set to be built on land to the south of Northwood, extending an existing development.
Robert Russell has applied for planning permission to build 3 homes, classed as market housing, off Newport Road between Newport and Cowes.
Application 25/01078/FUL also includes parking space, an access road and landscaping.
The proposal represents Phase 2 of a ‘wider residential development’ at the site, with the first phase already approved and under construction, according to a statement submitted by the Andrew White Planning Consultancy.
It says:
“Significantly, consent has previously been granted for four dwellings immediately to the north (phase one) and that is currently being built-out by the applicant.
“An opportunity has been identified to make efficient use of other land controlled by the applicant, being phase two.
“This application seeks permission for three family size dwellings. The proposed dwellings (arranged as a pair of semi’s (plots five and six) and detached house (plot seven) are shown to be well-spaced from one another and also from plot four on phase one.

Plots 5 and 6 are 3-bedroomed and plot 7 has 4 bedrooms.
The council’s public consultation on the proposal ends on 3rd October and a decision is expected on 28th October.
How this got approval from Highways beggars belief. I don’t normally believe in brown envelopes, but there is no other explanation.
Are these for social housing, if not why keep building
new homes, there are plenty of properties available
on rightmove.
I thought the island needed social housing.

They have already built three,big,detached houses there,the others will be the same,in other words,second homes,must have been a big envelope!
