Immigration officers arrested a 30-year-old Bangladeshi man at Eastern Eye in Sandown on Friday, just hours after arresting a 29-year-old Albanian man in Cowes.
As previously reported by Island Echo, Home Office officials visited a car wash at Somerton, Cowes on Friday afternoon. It was there that they arrested a man for entering the UK illegally.
It has now been confirmed that officers also visited Eastern Eye on High Street, Sandown at approximately 18:00 on Friday evening. A 30-year-old Bangladeshi man was arrested as he was found to have overstayed his visa. He has been detained pending removal from the UK.
Both operations were supported by officers from Hampshire Constabulary.
