UPDATED: The Isle of Wight Ambulance Service and Police are attending a road traffic collision on Parkhurst Road in Newport this morning (Friday).
A scooter and a VW Golf have been involved in the incident on the pedestrian crossing outside St Mary’s Hospital.
The crash occurred shortly before 10:00.
Traffic is heavy in the area. Motorists are advised to divert.
UPDATE – The 25-year-old female scooterist has been taken the short distance to hospital, although their injuries are not thought to be serious.
The road has been cleared.
