The Broadway Park Hotel in Sandown is set to re-open as part of the ‘Coast & Country Hotel Collection’, a newly formed collection of former Shearings Hotels.
With the Broadway Park Hotel having gone into administration in May 2020 as part of Shearings Hotels, it was feared the hotel would remain closed indefinitely. However, under new ownership and following a Hotel Management Agreement with Bespoke Hotels, the hotel is set to reopen as lockdown eases – with an opening date set for 17th May in accordance with Government guidance.
Under its new general manager, Dean Pascall, the hotel is currently in the process of recruiting 40 staff ahead of reopening. The hotel will also open a new Sun Terrace to replace the old swimming pool, where drinks and snacks will be served all day.
Paul FitzGerald, Portfolio Managing Director, has said:
“Given the enormous challenges of the last few months, we’re delighted to bring The Broadway Park Hotel back to market. It’s a lovely property and well-known on the Isle of Wight, and we know the initial closure was felt keenly amongst the island’s community. Now though, with reopening plans in place, we’re able to offer not just jobs and wider tourism opportunities, but a hospitality service that people can engage with as restrictions lift.”
Paul adds:
“Our renewed focus with reopening is on reaching wider audiences. In particular we are looking to attract those seeking leisure breaks as well as welcoming local residents to sample the restaurants, bars, and wedding and event venues on offer as we look to create a local hero status and develop a close bond with communities.”
