A medical emergency on the seafront in Sandown has prompted the scrambling of the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance (HIOWAA) this afternoon (Tuesday).
Having been scrambled from their Thruxton base at around 15:45, the yellow-liveried helicopter landed at Fort Street Car Park after circling the skies above The Bay.

On the ground, flying doctors made to the short walk to join colleagues from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service at the OYO Hotel on Culver Parade.
It is unclear as to the nature of the incident.
HIOWAA is in the middle of relocating to a new, larger base on the outskirts of Southampton.
