Ryde Rowing Club marked a standout year on Saturday with more than eighty members gathering for the annual presentation evening.
Hosted at the Club’s Appley Park base on 22nd November, the event included a season review highlighting a superb run of results across multiple crews. The Women’s Coastal Junior Four secured 6 Hants & Dorset ARA wins, while the Club’s Open Junior-Senior Four notched 3 victories – achievements that led to both crews earning representative honours for September’s South Coast Championships in Plymouth. The Women’s squad also claimed the Hants & Dorset ARA Coastal Women’s Championship title.
Awards were then presented, beginning with the traditional “First H&D ARA Rowing Win for Club” spoons, awarded this year to Eva Gordon and Fiona Owen. Fiona also collected the 1st Year Oarslady Award, with Eva taking home Best 1st Year Open Rower.
The Coxswain’s Cup was shared between Harry Watts and Ruby Reid, while Oarslady of the Year went to Abi Locke. Best Open Rower was awarded to Charlie Watts.
The Coach’s Cup was presented to Graham Reeve, and the Committee Cup to Maggie Sanderson. The Cadet Reps Trophy went to Demi Cranham-Ede, and the final honour of the evening -the Captain’s Cup – was presented to Wightlink’s Sam Woodman in recognition of many years of dedicated support to the Club.
