Ryde were the only 1st team Isle of Wight side to beat North Island opposition on Saturday (1st July).
In Hampshire Division 1, Ryde 1sts overcame leaders Compton & Chandlers Ford at Harding Shute by 5 wickets with 5 overs to spare.
After winning the toss and electing to field, Ryde restricted the visitors to 141 runs all out. Kerry Rice (3-32), Tom Durman (3-38), and Frank Gumley (2-28) were the bowlers inflicting the most damage for the home side.
A match-winning knock of 61 from Tom Durman saw Ryde overcome the visitors’ total in the 45th over.

In Southern Premier Division 1, promotion appears increasingly unlikely for Ventnor, who suffered a 2nd successive defeat.
After Ventnor won the toss and elected to field, the visitors reached a respectable total of 278 for 7 in their 50 overs. Ben Attrill was the pick of the Ventnor bowlers with 4-46.
After making a good start with opener Henry Bartlett scoring 31 and fellow opener Dineth Thimodya putting on a quickfire half-century, Ventnor collapsed to 156 all out with 11 overs and 5 balls to spare.

In Division 4 South, unbeaten leaders Ventnor 2nds won their 6th game in succession with ease against United Services Portsmouth.
Ventnor won the toss and put the home side into bat. US Portsmouth managed a modest total of 190-9 in their 45 overs. Charlie Turpin returned the best bowling figures with 4-30.
The South Island side waltzed past the USP total for the loss of 2 wickets with 8 overs to spare.

Shanklin & Godshill went down to a narrow defeat at Mudeford.
Mudeford lost the toss and were put into bat by Shanklin. After early successes for Shanklin bowlers Ben White, who trapped opener Carl Turner lbw for a duck, and Ross Le Sueur, who clean bowled 2nd opening batsman Gurdeep Sekhon for 6, Mudeford rallied to reach 234/4 in their 45 overs.
Shanklin managed a total of 219/8 in their 45 overs, falling 15 runs short of their target. Wicket-keeper Olly Nemiec was the chief run-getter for the Island side, making 61 runs before being clean-bowled by Alex Bartlett.
