Newport’s Paul Freeborn was beaten in straight sets by both Chris Stringer and Alan Dennis. Michael Jose endured a demanding evening, with all 3 singles going to deciding sets, plus a 5-set doubles. The match of the week featured Shorwell Saviours and Ryde Odd Balls, who finished level at 5-5. Eleven-year-old Ollie Lewis impressed with 2 singles wins, while his father Gareth was unbeaten and named player of the match. Martyn Walker claimed 2 for Shorwell and teamed with Christian Rhodes to win the doubles and secure the draw.
