Cowes Sports FC’s first team manager, Steve Rutter, has resigned.
The resignation follows a run of 8 successive defeats for the Wessex Premiership club.
Max Draper, reserve team coach, will take over the position, starting from the visit to bottom club Amesbury Town on Saturday.
Cowes Sports issued the following statement on their facebook page this afternoon (Wednesday):
“First team Manager, Steve Rutter has reluctantly decided to step down from his position, due to his full time commitment with the Chelsea FC Foundation at the Cowes Enterprise College.
“The Club has appointed Max Draper as his successor.
“Steve will stay at the Club as a Director of football and will help Max settle in to his new role as required. He will also continue to develop the Club’s forthcoming ties with the Chelsea FC Foundation, the Cowes Ladies sides and the Cowes / Gurnard Youth sides.
“We would like to thank Steve for his work and wish Max the best of luck in his new role”.

I think that your headline, Steve Rutter resign’s is a bit miss leading, he has moved from manager, to oversee all the football in the within the club.
