UPDATED: RUSH HOUR CRASH ON DUAL CARRIAGEWAY BRINGS EVENING COMMUTERS TO A HALT

Police and paramedics are on scene at a road traffic collision on Medina Way in Newport this afternoon (Friday), which has brought the dual carriageway down to a single lane. The incident on the northbound carriageway has involved multiple vehicles. The Isle of Wight Ambulance Service has 2 paramedic crews and a critical care paramedic on scene, with Police also in attendance. Motorists should expected delays in the area, with traffic also heavy on the southbound carriageway heading towards Coppins Bridge. UPDATE – The incident has now been cleared. The crash involved a BMW and a Vauxhall.
