Police and paramedics are on scene at a crash in Apse Heath, which is causing significant delays as Islanders head home this evening (Tuesday).
The incident – understood to involve a motorcycle – has occurred on Newport Road, the main road between Newport and Sandown.
The road is temporarily closed between Branstone Cross and the roundabout at Raj’s Premier.
Traffic is being turned around and diverted locally as emergency services tend to those involved.
UPDATE – The incident has now been cleared.
