Connor Lyon was next on the score sheet. Blasting a weak shot from 25 yards the injured Seaclose keeper spilled the ball into the back of his own goal to put the visitors 3-0 ahead on 30 minutes.

Next up was a penalty for Rookley after Seaclose handled the ball in their own areas following a corner. Up stepped Jody Wright to bag his second of the game and Rookley’s fourth goal.

Second half saw Seaclose awarded a free-kick from just outside the Rookley box. Converted it was strangely disallowed for offside by the referee. Still four nil with no way back for the home side.

Jody Wright completed his hatrick on 53 minutes. From a run down the left wing he threaded his way into the box to side foot in from close range. 5-0 Rookley who can now surely smell title glory.

Wright running riot scored another side foot effort to put his daily tally to five goals today. Great performance we are looking forward to seeing this guy play in division two next year.

An unknown goal and an own goal in the final minutes saw Rookley pull off a sensational 9-0 win. Seaclose were simply not at the races today though must be thoroughly commended for not giving in after such a battering.
