A road on the outskirts of Ryde was closed by Police earlier this evening (Thursday) after a man suffered a medical episode near to the carriageway.
Police closed Carters Road between Upton Cross and Smallbrook Roundabout shortly before 17:00 after paramedics were called to the area to treat a male patient, who is believed to have fallen in a ditch during a medical episode.
The road was reopened at 17:25 when paramedics moved the patient to a nearby field awaiting a medivac by helicopter, however this does not appear to have taken place.
Emergency services have now left the scene and the road is open in both directions.
