UPDATED: A lorry and two cars have been involved in a collision on the outskirts of Newport this afternoon (Thursday).
Emergency services are currently responding to the incident on Horsebridge Hill in the Parkhurst area between Newport and Cowes.
The road is understood to be blocked and traffic is heavy in the area, backed up to Northwood.
UPDATE @ 15:20 – The collision has occurred at the junction of Londsdale Avenue and the A3020 Parkhurst Road and has involved a Blue Toyota Rav 4, a Red Kia and a white Volvo lorry.
One person is complaining of back pain and is currently being assessed by paramedics.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area and to divert via the Cowes Floating Bridge or via Porchfield.
Southern Vectis school bus Routes 305, 306, 318 and 330 are all delayed alongside the Route 1 service.
UPDATE @ 16:00 – Traffic is easing in the area however delays are still present.
UPDATE @ 17:11 – The incident has been fully cleared and traffic is returning to normal rush hour levels.
