Red Funnel has been forced to cancel 6 of its hi-speed Red Jet sailings this morning (Tuesday) due to staffing issues.
In total 6 key commuter crossings have been pulled including the 06:05, 07:15 and 08:25 sailings from Southampton and the 06:40, 07:50 and 09:00 from West Cowes.
Limited availability of crew has been blamed for the decision
Red Funnel apologise for the inconvenience.
I don’t understand why there are so many staff
shortages on the island.
Why don’t the Ferry Companies advertise in
London, I bet many applicants would apply.
They would be much more reliable staff and
would be pleased to live on a beautiful island with
much cheaper rents than what big cities charge.
Red Funnel and Wightlink HR Managers advertise in London and
fill those empty vacant roles so us Islanders can get
a much more reliable service.
It’s because claiming benefits is a career choice for many folk here.
