Red Funnel is still working to fix a problem with the propulsion system on board Red Eagle, meaning yet more cancellations as a new week begins. The cross-Solent ferry operator has tonight (Sunday) announced that due to extended works on the Aft Voith unit of Red Eagle, they have had to cancel a further 12 sailings. The problem first arose on Saturday with cancellations continuing throughout the day and into Sunday. Now, Monday’s services look set to be hit with no indication as to how long the fix will actually take. The 05:00, 08:00, 11:00, 14:00, 17:00 and 20:15 sailings from Southampton have been cancelled alongside the 06:30, 09:30, 12:30, 15,30, 18:30 and 21:45 sailings from East Cowes. Red Funnel apologises for any inconvenience caused to your journey. See the latest ferry status on their website – redfunnel.co.uk/isle-of-wight-ferry/plan/timetables/service-status. UPDATE @ 16:00 on Monday – The same sailings that have been cancelled today (20th May) are also cancelled again tomorrow (21st May). Red Funnel has apologised for the inconvenience caused.
