Ryde is to get a retro gaming café and bar when Game On opens up on Union Street next month.
Game On is to open on 20th July at the bottom of Union Street in what used to be Deep South Social and will offer what has been described as a ‘family-friendly experience’.
Gamers will be able to game by session for a total of 90 minutes on a variety of games differing in genre, skill level and age range. There will be discounts applied to large groups of up to 20 and those gaming as a family. Any young gamers under 12 must be accompanied by an appropriate adult.
The café bar will be open to gamers and the public alike for a drinks service with a difference. Popcorn, hotdogs and nachos will all be available to satisfy any pangs of hunger alongside a daily street food menu for light lunches and dinners. Locally sourced beers and cocktails will also be on offer alongside wines and soft drinks.
It is hoped that Game On will also be able to offer party nights. Game On SPLAT will also be offered – a fun session ‘Splatter’ room for birthday parties and private sessions.

I thought the Deep South Social place only opened about 18 months ago?
Hopefully for the new owners this lasts a bit longer.
Went to their Facebook. Sounds like a lunatic asylum.
