An investigation has been launched into the alleged rape of an 18-year-old woman in Wootton.
The sexual assault was reported to Police on Saturday afternoon (18th October).
It’s said the incident occurred at an address on Church Road, Wootton.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary has confirmed that a 23-year-old man from Manchester has been arrested in connection with the attack.
Island Echo understands the mainlander was aprehended by officers at a commercial premises on Union Street, Ryde on Saturday night.
The suspect has been bailed with conditions until 18th January 2026.

There’s witnesses, they would’ve done a DNA/vaginal test to prove forced penetration (so no matter who did it, the rape has been proven to have happened) and 99.9% of rapes aren’t alleged and studies have proven 1 in 3 men admit to rape when it’s worded to sound less serious. Yet 99% of rapists don’t go to jail cuz it takes a lot of evidence to even make an arrest. Even after arrests, there’s always people like you saying “allegedly” and insinuating the victim is lying (which wouldn’t be plausible in this case, or majority of cases with arrests) and that’s a huge reason rapists don’t get any repercussions. But no matter the statistics and facts, people like you would never believe a young girl..
