Pupils from Queensgate Primary School enjoyed a visit to Briddlesford Lodge Farm last week on World School Milk Day.
World School Milk Day is held all over the world on the last Wednesday of September to celebrate the benefits and success of school milk programmes. The first celebratory day was held in 2000 and has since become an annual event promoted by the Food and Agricultural Organisation of the United Nations.
Briddlesford Lodge Farm was pleased to host a farm visit from Queensgate, joining schoolchildren from countries all over the world in celebrating the importance of drinking milk.
The pupils were given a tour of the farm, seeing, stroking and feeding Briddlesford’s Guernsey cows and calves. The visit finished with a drink of fresh milk!
Hmmm milky milky. Nice cold ice cold milk.
