QUAY FOLK CLUB ANNOUNCE SPECIAL GUEST APPEARANCE FROM SEB STONE

Quay Folk Club is welcoming special guest Seb Stone to the Island later this month. Young Seb Stone plays the Uilleann pipes and assorted whistles with energy and skill, he is also an award-winning singer and is much in demand at premier folk festivals all around the UK. Sheffield-based Seb first started to play whistle at the age of 11 and gave his first festival performance at 12, singing and playing with the Hope Valley College Folk Band. Whistles are versatile but as Seb developed an interest in traditional song he needed an instrument he could sing with. The Uilleann pipes, with their haunting tone and resonance, filled the bill. The sound of these pipes is sweeter and gentler than most other bagpipes and their music is much used in films and TV to give a scene an Irish flavour. Don’t miss the chance to enjoy the sounds of this beautiful instrument. In support, is popular local multi-instrumentalist and singer Dave Godby. Dave has performed on many occasions with JC and Angelina. His sets usually focus on American music. Quay Arts Centre doors open at 18:30 and music starts at 19:00. Entry is free, donations are collected for Quay Arts Centre and to fund more guest nights.
