Ryde Inshore Rescue went to the aid of a disabled man and his quadski following a mechanical breakdown off Ryde this afternoon (Friday).
Solent Coastguard requested the launch of Ryde Rescue 1 at around 15:05 following a report of a quadski – an amphibious vehicle – without power.
The volunteer lifeboat crew quickly located the unusual casualty vessel to the West of Ryde Pier, midway between Ryde and Fishbourne.
A tow was established and both the quadski and the uninjured man were taken into Ryde Harbour.
This afternoon’s shout marks the 45th for the independent lifeboat station.
