UPDATED: Residents and businesses in Newport, Rookley, Godshill and Whitwell are without power this morning (Sunday) following a network outage affecting over 170 postcode areas.
At just gone 10:00 properties lost power across the PO30 1, PO30 2, PO30 3 and PO30 4 areas, alongside those within a PO38 3 postcode. On the other side of the Island residents in PO33 1BQ, PO33 3EB and PO33 3EJ are also without power.
Southern and Scottish Energy say they hope to have power restored to the majority of residents by 11:15.
UPDATE @ 11:20 – SSE say an engineer arrived on site at around 11:00 and that power has been restored to 120 postcode areas, however 59 remain without this morning.
It is anticipated that power will be restored to all customers by 15:00.
UPDATE @ 20:31 – Power remains off for customers in the PO30 3EU, PO38 3NL, PO38 3NN and PO38 3NW areas, with an anticipated return time of 21:30.
The majority of properties were reconnected by 15:00.
