Police have this afternoon (Friday) named the pedestrian who was killed in a collision on the outskirts of Ryde last month as 69-year-old Tony Piggott.
Mr Piggott, of Treefields, was seriously injured during a collision involving an Audi A2 on Binstead Road, Ryde at 09:00 on 17th August. He was subsequently taken to hospital for treatment to serious injuries.
Sadly, despite treatment, he died in hospital on Monday 18th September.
Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are still keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision, or the moments leading up to it.
Unusually, the road was not closed following the collision.
