Police have responded to an incident involving an escaped horse which was clipped by a car in St Helens this morning (Saturday).
It was at around 11:00 that officers were alerted to a vehicle having come into contact with a horse in the vicinity of Duver Road.
It’s understood the animal had escaped from an enclosure elsewhere in the village before being clipped by the car.
Subsequently, whilst attempting to bring the large animal under control, an individual was injured when the horse kicked out.
Thankfully, no serious injuries have been sustained and it is thought the horse is now safe.
Police remain in the area.
