Police on the Isle of Wight are hunting for 30-year-old Nino Cavanagh, who is wanted in connection with an assault in Ventnor. Cavanagh, of no fixed abode, is sought following an incident on 12th November. Officers have been conducting extensive enquiries to find him without any luck, so the public is now being asked to assist. Nino is described as being white, around 6ft 2ins tall, of slim build and with dark brown hair. It is believed he is still on the Island with a warning that anyone found to be harbouring him or deliberately obstructing attempts to locate him could be committing an offence themselves and be liable for arrest and prosecution. UPDATE 2nd January – Police have confirmed that a 30-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm. He is currently in custody.
