Police have issued a CCTV image of a man officers would like to speak to after 2 shoplifting incidents at Tesco Express in Lake.
On Monday 2nd February, a man entered Tesco on Lake Hill/The Fairway at 09:55 and picked up 2 bottles of wine. He has left the store at around 10:00 without paying for these items.
The same person entered the same store just 2 days later, on Wednesday 4th February, at around 20:45 and picked up wine and meat products. Once again, he left the store without paying.
Following enquiries, Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary is now – a month later – able to share an image of a man who was seen in the area at the time of these incidents. Officers believe he may be responsible.
He is described as between 30-40 years old, of large build with dark hair. He was seen wearing a black hooded top and black trousers.
If you recognise this man or were in the area at the time and saw anything suspicious, call Police on 101 and quote 44260056260. Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.

Once again very poor CCTV pictures I wish these people would get decent cameras
i think if you knew the scum he would be easy to recognise
What, you can’t see the chubby bloke with black hair and beard?
I dont think police collate pictures of shoplifters , so that they remain on a data base like fingerprints. So he has taken a chance and rode off into the sunset whilst we pay for all the thefts . Shades of Eastern European maybe.?
Or any area of The Isle of Wight!!get a grip what on earth makes you think you can tell that from a crap CCTV piccy oh I know bet your a Reform dimwit…rest that one brain cell quickly you may need to use it again later!.
You only have to look at a Reform dimwit and

Instore facial recognition and ex Military personnel
as store security.
Job done.
It’s about as good as you’ll get on a camera with uncontrolled lighting conditions, but why did it take Plod a month to release the picture? To give the perp plenty of time to get away/change clothes/dye hair?
Waste of police time. If caught, our naïve judiciary will do nothing.
Decent CCTV isn’t expensive.
Taking Tesco’s slogan “Every little helps” to another
level.
