Police on the Isle of Wight have released images of 4 people they want to speak to in connection with the theft of more than £2,000 of goods from Asda.
Between 13:00 and 13:30 on Saturday 31st May – nearly 6 weeks ago – 2 men and 2 women stole alcohol and other goods from Asda on St Georges Way.
The total value of the stolen items was more than £2,000.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary believe the quad may be mainlanders with links to the Southampton area.
Police are now asking anyone who recognises these people to get in touch.
You can call 101 quoting reference 44250242787 or report online via https://www.hampshire.police.uk/tua/tell-us-about/cor/tell-us-about-existing-case-report/.

Why wait 6 weeks before posting their pictures ?
6 weeks later isn’t really a constructive attempt to solve this, perhaps if the Island was asked to help a tad nearer the date, they might stand a chance. Asda have a great cctv system and a guard but with all the false alarms it is no wonder they missed this.
6 weeks ago!!! What a waste of time leaving it this long. The best thing the Echo can do is to release the photos in their mainland issue if they think the thieves are from there.
What mainland issue? You do know this is an independent Island website?
One of the categories I mentioned earlier that this island is inundated with, THIEVING SHIT
What I don’t understand is, what is the security
person who sits at the entrance of Asda doing.
Why pay for security if such shoplifting can take
place with security on site.
Scummy scummers again! Easy touch over here.
More evidence that benefit cuts making honest decent people turn to crime.
‘Evidence’? You assume that these people
a) have suffered benefit cuts
b) were ‘made’ to turn to crime
c) are honest decent people
Think you should try thinking before coming up with ‘ facts’ like these DD.
what evidence do you have that these scum were in any way ‘honest’ to start with ?? (unless you know them, or are one of them??)
& how does any cut in benefits
(if that actually happened to these low-lifes,.. & if so, why were they on benefits in the first place,.instead of working, as they’re obviously capable of working??)
justify stealing 2 grands worth of alcohol (and other goods)?
It is not the hard working taxpayers job to ensure freeloading, deadbeat parasites have enough free benefit money to prevent them from stealing
they should work, or go without
Sorry you all didnt get my sense of humour
I read recently that many middle class families
are stealing at self service checkouts, it is not
only persons on benefits.
This mob though took the biscuit, £2,000.00
I only thought that they took 2 grands worth of alcohol, now it has become biscuit’s as well? Ha Ha.
If they are islanders, someone must know them from these clear pictures. Do what they do in Saudi, cut their hands off.
