Police have seized a number of cannabis plants found growing in a field on the outskirts of Newport.
Officers say that it appears persons unknown went to a lot of time and effort to grow the plants off of Calbourne Road – also known as Middle Road.
The plants have all been seized but the rightful owner is – with some tongue in cheek – being offered the opportunity to go to Newport Police Station to make sure the plants are ok.

I’ve seen plenty growing up Luccombe downs probably just teenagers
‘Just’ teenagers, hardly makes the damage less, and likely the most vulnerable to abuse and become damaged than others.
Were there any rabbits harmed in the area?
What next? Police find cannabis plants growing in the High street
