Newport Golf Club ran a charity golf day on Wednesday 17th April to raise money for Breast Cancer UK. Pink was worn and golf played, raising over £650 for the charity. On Saturday 20th April. Newport golf club had a further team golf competition for the St George’s Trophy. In 1st place with 107 points were Ally Chick, Tony Coombes, Dameon Moul and Pete Mew. In 2nd place with 104 points were John Twilley, Mark Johnson, Kev Thornton and Allan Norman. In 3rd place with 103 points were Duncan Bond, Harry Gwilliam, Kevin Gwilliam and Darren Boulton. The trophy was presented by John Twilley.
