The driver of a Peugeot that crashed into a hedge on the outskirts of Brading last night (Saturday), having narrowly missed a barrier, suffered a minor injury. Officers from Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary were called to Morton Common, near the junction with Greenwood Lane, at just after 19:00. At the scene, a Peugeot 2008 had come to rest in a hedge having just missed a lamppost and wooden barrier. It’s understood the driver suffered a medical episode at the wheel. The vehicle remained in situ overnight until it was recovered this morning by a local recovery agent.

What makes you think it’s someone over 65’s. It doesn’t say they are. There enough younger people prone to accidents on the island

Love this straight bid of road. An experienced driver like me can easily do a ton plus here no problem. You less experienced boy racers need to slow down though before somebody goes off the road and crashes into a hedge………..oh wait a minute

I know the driver of this car and they had a medical episode at the wheel and ate very lucky they weren’t badly injured. Dont know why when people see things like this they jump to conclusions. Know facts before jumping in with comments

Someone must a have guessed correctly. Age sex, alcohol, drugs, passing wind, and speed have all been blamed. Put my name down for bad driving whatever the cause. Although I do suspect speed with the car that far off the road and needing a tree to halt it.
Quick get over to Rolls Hill nice motor on roof in field heading towards Thorness Bay this afternoon (Sunday). Amazing driving to get over hedge and upside down !

Went by just after the crash, Elderly male unfortunately passed out behind the wheel with 2 lady’s in the car, Hope he recovers soon.
