The driver of a Peugeot that crashed into a hedge on the outskirts of Brading last night (Saturday), having narrowly missed a barrier, suffered a minor injury. Officers from Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary were called to Morton Common, near the junction with Greenwood Lane, at just after 19:00. At the scene, a Peugeot 2008 had come to rest in a hedge having just missed a lamppost and wooden barrier. It’s understood the driver suffered a medical episode at the wheel. The vehicle remained in situ overnight until it was recovered this morning by a local recovery agent.

Pretty fortunate not to have sustained serious injury. If she’d hit the tree head-on it could have been very different.
Oh here we go nice one more arriving soon…you can’t park there sir..
More idiots will be along soon
Speeding, drinking or drug driving?????
Is there an outbreak of zombie-ism on the Isle of Wight? Every day another car is on its roof or in a hedge. What is going on?
Drugs and alcoho,l no road police, no cameras.
I’d like to be the first to personally congratulate Kev on his tirade against the old fart, as new legislation is being drafted, making retesting compulsary for over 65s
What makes you think it’s someone over 65’s. It doesn’t say they are. There enough younger people prone to accidents on the island
That’s fine as long as younger drivers are not allowed to drive until they are 64…..
Not confirmed as yet
you can’t park there!
Sweet . Drive it like you stole it. My damage rating 6/10 could do better. More soon please.
Love this straight bid of road. An experienced driver like me can easily do a ton plus here no problem. You less experienced boy racers need to slow down though before somebody goes off the road and crashes into a hedge………..oh wait a minute
Left hand down a bit.
Looks like trying to overtake and having to take evasive action by turning into hedge. Picture name and shame these people now before somebody gets killed.
How would that prevent future deaths?
Drive it, like you can drive it …..
I know the driver of this car and they had a medical episode at the wheel and ate very lucky they weren’t badly injured. Dont know why when people see things like this they jump to conclusions. Know facts before jumping in with comments
Another day and another old fart
And you should rename yourself King Idiot.
Someone must a have guessed correctly. Age sex, alcohol, drugs, passing wind, and speed have all been blamed. Put my name down for bad driving whatever the cause. Although I do suspect speed with the car that far off the road and needing a tree to halt it.
Quick get over to Rolls Hill nice motor on roof in field heading towards Thorness Bay this afternoon (Sunday). Amazing driving to get over hedge and upside down !
Sunday drivers… They certainly are a thing!
Went by just after the crash, Elderly male unfortunately passed out behind the wheel with 2 lady’s in the car, Hope he recovers soon.
How does this happen???
For all those with their crass and unjustified comments. The driver had a medical episode. I really hope they are ok
