The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance has landed at the County Ground off of Green Lane in Shanklin to carry out a patient medivac this morning.
It is understood that the patient has been transferred by land ambulance from a property in Coronation Gardens to the awaiting helicopter, which landed just before 10:30.
The air ambulance is often used for heart attack patients who require specialist medical treatment at the Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth.
UPDATE @ 10:50 – The HIOWAA has now left the scene at Shanklin and is heading back over The Solent.
