An Isle of Wight paedophile who failed to register at Newport Police Station when required has been fined £200.
Derek Bayton, 63, of Dodnor Lane in Newport, appeared at the Isle of Wight Crown Court charged with a single count of failing to comply with the requirements of the sex offenders register
Prosecutor Tim Devlin told the court that back in 2018, Bayton was handed a suspended sentence by Guildford Magistrates Court after admitting 3x offences of making indecent images.
As part of his conviction, he is required to complete an annual registration at Newport Police Station, something he didn’t do on 7th May 2025.
The court heard how Bayton arrived at Newport Police Station on the 12th May only to find out he was 5 days late. When questioned by Police, Bayton said that he thought he had to register by 17th May.
Bayton was most recently in court back in February 2024 when he ‘gave in to temptation’ and downloaded indecent child images onto a USB stick. When he found out he had been detected, the former Guildford man admitted to destroying the thumb drive.
This latest offence put Bayton in breach of a Suspended Sentence Order (SSO) imposed on that occasion.
Defending Bayton, Tom Cooke, told the court that Bayton had admitted the offence at the first opportunity and that he was showing good compliance with his current community order.
Judge Newton-Price told Bayton that he accepted it was an oversight of error and ordered the 63-year-old to pay a £200 fine.
Three different nonces is as many days. who’s shipping this scum here?
Imagine how the island would be if we had a annual clean up for 24hr like the film the purge
another dirty pedo that needs stringing up
As I have always said, a suspended sentence should be by the neck for this filth.
If not by the neck then at least by the balls
