UPDATED: Emergency services are this morning (Monday) working to free one person who has become trapped in their vehicle following a road traffic collision in Ventnor.
At least two appliances from the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service are currently attending the incident at the junction of Spring Hill and Mitchell Avenue on St Boniface Road, where it is understood three vehicles have collided. The incident occurred shortly before 10:25.
UPDATE @ 10:54 – Island Echo understands the collision has involved a Unipart delivery van and an Island Roads vehicle.
Witnesses have reported that the Unipart van has collided with the front garden wall of a property and damage has been sustained to the Island Roads vehicle.
Police and paramedics from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service are in attendance. At least two ambulances are understood to be on scene alongside an Ambulance Officer.
UPDATE @ 11:15 – No one has been seriously injured in the collision and the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service has not been required to cut any persons free.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area while the scene is cleared.
