Isle of Wight 1st Division side Oakfield beat Combination 2 Vectis Reserves at Brading Town’s Vicarage Lane on Thursday evening to win the Island’s oldest cup competition at a canter.
Oakfield began the game kicking down the slope and opened their account in the 11th minute through a Martin Barrow shot from a tight angle (1-0).
In the 24th minute, Ellis Lomas waltzed through the Vectis defence before burying the ball in the back of the net (2-0). 2 minutes later, Barrow crossed to Robert Gee, who blasted the ball past Vectis keeper, Ed Roberts (3-0).
Martin Barrow scored his second goal in the 39th minute when he rounded Roberts after being put through by Jake Keetch (4-0). Vectis then came close to getting a goal back when Aaron Lake hit the upright a minute later.
The first half ended in a flurry of goals, when first Martin Barrow completed his hat trick after netting from a tight angle (5-0), and then Mitch Walker lobbed Roberts in first half injury time (6-0).

Oakfield continued from where they had left off in the 1st half, this time kicking up the slope. Robert Gee scored his 2nd in the 53rd minute (7-0). Just 4 minutes later, Gee completed his hat trick (8-0). In the 65th minute, Gee scored yet again (9-0). In the 75th minute, Mitch Walker scored the goal-of-the-game, sending a thunderbolt into the top right corner of the goal from just outside the penalty area (10-0).
The final ended on an unfortunate note when Vectis midfielder, Aaron Lake, suffered a head injury and referee Ben Orton was forced to finish the game with ten minutes left on the clock.
