A former comic book shop employee has denied stealing £479 worth of graphic novels and figurines from his boss.
Robert Mead, 51, of Castle Street in Ryde, denied a single count of theft by employee when he appeared at the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court earlier this week (1st April).
Prosecuting, Lauren McConnell told the court that Mead is accused of stealing numerous stock items – including graphic novels and figurines – to the value of £479.70 from Heroes on Scarrots Lane in Newport.
The case has been adjourned until 12th May for a plea and trial preparation hearing at the Isle of Wight Crown Court.
The 51-year-old was granted conditional bail until that time.
