UPDATED: Police have closed Puckpool Hill in Ryde in both directions this afternoon (Tuesday) following a burst water main.
Officers were called to the scene at around 16:00 after members of the public reported large holes opening up, tarmac lifting and water pouring down the road on the S-bend.
Water is gathering outside Puckpool Park, although is currently posing no threat to property.
Southern Water are now on scene and Island Roads are expected to put a hard road closure in place shortly.
Motorists should divert via Oakhill Road.
UPDATE WEDNESDAY: Docklands Traffic Management have confirmed that Puckpool Hill has now reopened in both directions.
