UPDATED: An elderly woman has been knocked down by a car on Albert Street in Sandown this afternoon (Monday).
Police and a rapid response paramedic are in attendance at the scene off the High Street, where the pedestrian has been hit by a Volkswagen Tiguan 4×4.
Emergency services were called to the incident at just before 13:00.
The one-way road has been closed.
UPDATE @ 13:59 – The casualty has been conveyed to St Mary’s Hospital by ambulance. Her injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
The road has now reopened.
