The Isle of Wight’s only HMV store is set to close later this month, as revealed by Island Echo on Thursday.
Rumours of the closure have been circulating for the past week much to the upset of regular customers, however the store has today (Sunday) confirmed that HMV Isle of Wight will cease trading during October.
The sudden closure is being blamed on the premises’ landlord, who will not commit to HMV as a tenant – instead taking favour in a convenience store, believed to be The Co-Operative, taking over the building located in the High Street.
Back in February of this year, the company went into administration but the Island’s local outlet was saved from closure.
The store will continue to operate as normal up until the closure date, which will be communicated in due course.
