The main road connecting Sandown and Newport has been closed for emergency roadworks tonight (Tuesday).
Newport Road at Lake has been closed from High Street to Merrie Farm Park (Merrie Gardens) by Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks.
Motorists are being diverted via Green Lane, Shanklin in both directions.
It is unknown when the road will re-open, so drivers should allow extra time for their journeys tonight and tomorrow morning.
