Cowes-based Esplanade, which has sold around 50,000 cars on the Isle of Wight over the past 78 years, will now be known as Van Mossel Esplanade. It follows a takeover of the Jacksons Group, of which Esplanade has been a part of since 2017, by Europe’s largest family-owned car retailer, Van Mossel. The Dutch firm acquired Jacksons and its locations here on the Isle of Wight, the Isle of Man and in the Channel Islands last Summer. But now the time has come to rebrand the dealerships, including Esplanade at Airfield Way in Cowes. It’s said that the takeover will result in increased buying power, a renewed commitment to exceptional customer service and significant investments in showrooms. Van Mossel Automotive Group employs more than 5,000 people across Europe. Further information is expected to be released next week.

Nice to know it’s a local IOW company and British – oh it’s not.
Excellent, more wealth taken out of our country…
Brexit is a MAJOR help in that respect!
I’m not sure there has been any stronger discount in the recent history. Maybe when UK started to get bombed during WW2?
Saying that as an investor who came here from Amsterdam right after Brexit as she was hired to get as much money out of this opportunity as possible. Funnily enough my contract was supposed to run only for 3 years but Brexit has and still is going so terrible than it’s being now extended indefinitely. You didn’t even join EEA back yet!
It’s amazing how much money British people decided to throw away! But well, who am I to argue, you throw away bags of money, I collect them for my investment fund and get a nice bon
Notice how the downvotes stack up. Honestly this place is Brexiter central, and they still refuse to see the harm they have done to this country despite having their noses repeatedly rubbed in it.
They are like 5 year olds with their fingers in their ears going “la la la, not listening”
Well don’t buy from them then
It’s time natives started rejecting foreign owned business. This country is sadly dying.
Be nice if the parts department answered the phone
All governments have allowed the UK to be sold off. My grandfather would be furious.
But, but, but “taking back control”…
Good, great to have some investment in the Isle of Wight, wherever it comes from. Hopefully customer service and prices might improve now.
Seems like it’s just going to make it all more expensive sod the customer just foe the owner/ shareholders if any. Certainly won’t make things cheaper!!!!
