The Isle of Wight Ladies’ Golf Association commenced their new golfing season at Cowes Golf Club on Monday (17th March) with the President’s Frolic.
Association President, Maggie Ankers hosted the event which included the starting of a Bowmaker competition consisting of 69 players in teams of 3.
Taking 1st place with 39 points were Rose Green (Ryde), Ann Smith (Freshwater Bay) and Jean Priddle (Cowes).
Paula Burke (Freshwater Bay), Tricia Penn (Ryde) and Caroline Warne (Shanklin & Sandown) took 2nd place also with 39 points on count-back. In 3rd position were Gill Fahy (Osborne), Lyn Guy (Shanklin & Sandown) and Elaine White (Newport) who also scored 39 points.
