Isle of Wight woman Emily Pedreschi has big plans for East Cowes’ The Galley when she takes over next month.
New owner Emily is set to take over the reins from the current owners on Wednesday 2nd April, swapping a career at a local secondary school for the running of the East Cowes takeaway.
On the menu will be smash burgers, loaded jackets, loaded smash burgers, onion rings, garlic bread and more as well as a few items not seen much elsewhere on the Isle of Wight. Several menu items are vegan and gluten free.
28-year-old Emily has been practising and perfecting her dishes and recipes – with the help of her chef husband – in preparation for the opening next month.
Outreach has already been made to several local based businesses and groups in the East Cowes area to offer discounts to those visiting the establishment of Ferry Road.
When she’s all settled in, Emily hopes to give the business a new fresh and colourful look, reflective of her creative and bold character.
An evening menu will be launched later in April (Friday 22nd).
Speaking on her new venture, Emily has told Island Echo:
“I never thought I’d have my very own business and although I’m sad to leave my current job and will miss everyone I am beyond excited for this new adventure!
“I cannot thank enough my friends and family who have helped me the last couple of weeks, and my amazing husband who been my biggest supporter in this journey and has helped me with everything he can, and put up with me stressing the past few weeks I couldn’t do it without you!”
