Almost £1,000 was raised when 2 football teams comprising of firefighters and football club managers battled it out on the pitch last weekend (17th October).
The charity event was set up to raise money for the purchase and installation of a new life-saving defibrillator and saw a team of firefighters take on Sandown and Lake Football Club managers and coaches at Fairway Park in Sandown.
Not only did the football action keep the crowds entertained, but a host of activities such as a raffle and tombola was held to raise extra funds – with a top prize of a 30 minute helicopter flight!
The day proved to be a great success and a total of £920.29 was raised to go towards the defibrillator project. The final score was 4-2 to Sandown and Lake FC.
