REOPENED: MOUNT STREET IN RYDE CLOSED FOR EMERGENCY WATER REPAIRS

UPDATE @ 12:18 – The road has now reopened.

Mount Street in Ryde has been closed this morning (Monday) for emergency repairs by Southern Water.

Mount Street has been closed from its junction with Arthur Street for a distance of 30 metres.

The closure is to enable Southern Water to carry out repairs to a leaking comm pipe.

The one-way restriction in Mount Street, Ryde will temporarily be revoked from its junction with Arthur Street to its junction with Green Street, and Arthur Street to its junction with West Street.

The revocation is necessary to allow access to residences and businesses whilst the road is closed.

The diversion will affect these streets: Mount Street, Green Street, West Street, Arthur Street

Diversion route(s) will be signed at the time of closure. Reasonable facilities will be provided to allow access to adjacent premises while the road is closed.

The closure was put in force at  09:45 hours on 29th June 2020 and will remain in place for a maximum period of five days or until works are completed, whichever is sooner.
