A motorcyclist has been involved in a collision on the main road between Shanklin and Ventnor this afternoon (Saturday).
It was just before 13:30 that Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary was alerted to the crash, which has occurred on Bonchurch Road near to Dunnose Bend.
Officers from the Joint Operations Unit were immediately deployed from Newport and are now on scene.
Thankfully, no serious injuries are thought to have been sustained.
The road remains open under Police direction.

I know where this happened, and the time of the accident indicates the road surface was ‘greasy’ after rain showers. Roads can become greasy when rain occurs after a prolonged dry spell. Glad the motorcyclist was not seriously hurt.
