REOPENED: MITCHELL AVENUE IN VENTNOR CLOSED DUE TO WATER LEAK

Mitchell Avenue in Ventnor has been closed from its junction with Ocean View Road (Grove Road) to its junction with Boniface Road for a distance of 71 metres.

The closure is necessary to enable Southern Water to carry out repairs outside number 8 where there is a leak on a ferrule of a water main.

Access to Ventnor Industrial Estate is accessible from the West (Ocean View Road).

The diversion will be via St Boniface Road, Mitchell Avenue, Spring Hill, High Street, Victoria Street, Albert Street, Pier Street, Church Street, Alpine Road, Zig Zag Road, Castle Road, Gills Cliff Road, Newport Road.

The diversion route will be signed at the time of closure. Reasonable facilities will be provided to allow access to adjacent premises while the road is closed.

The closure was put in force from 08:00 hours on 13th May 2020 and will remain in place for a maximum period of five days or until works are completed whichever is sooner.

UPDATE 16:17 – DTM has Tweeted to say that Mitchell Avenue has now reopened to traffic.
