The presence of a Police helicopter circling above homes in Ryde tonight (Tuesday) sparked residents to head into the streets to discover what was occurring, with what now appears to have been a search for a missing vulnerable 15-year-old girl.
The National Police Air Support helicopter has been circling primarily over the Oakfield area of Ryde for most of the evening after being tasked by Hampshire Constabulary to search for a 15-year-old girl, who went missing from her home in Marlborough Road, Ryde earlier this afternoon.
Ground units have been searching the local area throughout the evening which has not been in vein, as it is understood the girl, who is believed to have learning difficulties, has been found safe and well.
