Mill Street in Newport has been closed to allow for emergency waterworks to be carried out.
Contractors have closed the side road from its junction with the High Street to its junction with Lugley Street – a distance of just 39 metres.
Southern Water has identified a burst main which needs repairing.
Motorists are being diverted vis High Street, St James’ Street and Lugley Street.
The road will be closed for a maximum of 5 days, but is expected to re-open as soon as the repairs have been completed.
